Guillotinna Giclee

[Ordering term] From May 24th (Sun) 2015 0:00 to Jun 30th (Tue) 2015 23:59
We interviewed Mr. Sorayama who created Guillotinna Giclee
――Please tell us how this collaboration with Yasushi Nirasawa happened.

About 20 years ago, I drew this for a prototype figure for Art Storm but unfortunately, the figure was not released.
I remembered about it so I printed it out and revealed it for the talk session.

――Why did you choose Guillotinna?

It was like pole-and-line fishing from Yasushi's works. Guillotinna has a great aura.
The CEO of Nike (in Portland) has the original painting and the queen of some fetish club who wears the same costume has the first copy.

――How did you work together to co-create an artwork? Was there anything you paid attention to?

It's my bad habit but I proceed without caring about others so I remember that I told him about this project after I finished drawing it.
I didn't mind if he didn't approve them because that's my style as always.

――Speaking of Mr. Sorayama's work, I think many people would imagine a beautifully bewitching woman.
How did you establish this style?

I myself don't know. Maybe chronically and it's a lifestyle disease! Maybe?

――Are the women in your works images of your ideal women?
Is there a hidden message?

Well, I'm just being a happy person. I have no choice but to make them up since they don't exist in reality.
It's free to have delusions (creativity) and I'm enjoying it since I never become a criminal even if I dig into it. I'm blessed!

――Please tell us about this project with C.J.MART and the feature of this work.

The red color came out very well without any turbidity. I really love how it came out.

――What kind of plans and aspirations do you have for the near future?

I have 10 solo and group exhibitions scheduled by this summer (half finished).
Next year, I'm planning to have the Robot Image Exhibition at N.U.G Gallery and will feature the life-size Sexy ROBOT figure.
Also, TOKYO CULTUART by BEAMS (Erotic) will be held simultaneously.
I am looking forward to work with Mr. Akashi of MEDICOM TOY as well.

We interviewed Mr. Nirasawa who created Guillotinna Giclee
――Please tell us how this collaboration with Hajime Sorayama happened.

We became acquainted to each other in a strange occasions...
I thought it was an honor if I could use God's (Sorayama's) painting for publicity of GUILLOTINA figure (Laughs)...

――Why did you choose Guillotinna?

I thought Guillotinna was well-suited since her costume already had "bondage" and a "discipline" style which were in Sorayama's work already (Laughs)...

――How did you work together to co-create an artwork? Was there anything you paid attention to?

GUILLOTINA is originally my design, but I only requested to leave the signature color of Crimson Red and her hairstyle as it is.
Besides that, I left it all to Mr. Sorayama (Laughs)...
As a result, he engraved the date and time of the first guillotine punishment and updated the weapons (Laughs)...

――You have designed many creatures such as Kamen Rider. Please tell us the character you have a strong feeling about.

That will be "the Undead" who were the enemies of Kamen Rider Blade in my first year (2004).
I created them by reducing my life in them (Laughs)...

――When you design such monsters, do you create entirely from
scratch? Or is there something that inspires you?

If I am designing a monster, I shape them up into plants and animals but my basic line is that a human will be inside.

――Please tell us about this project with C.J.MART and the feature of this work.

This is my old art but I hope this gives a driving force to revive my characters as a beautiful wall icon (Laughs)...

――What kind of plans and aspirations do you have for the near future?

I have plenty of time (Laughs) ... I am planning to make a book in black and white... but... only god (paper) knows?!! (Laughs)...
