We interviewed Mr.Kougei who is in charge ofMazinger Z、Solid Gold MIROCK、Negora.
――Your company concept is to transmitting the New art of "Made in Japan's" to the world with the best craftsmanship and the best materials.
Tell us about how you started the company.

Originally I started because I love cartoons, animation, toys and traditional crafts.
Our mission is combining the world finest craftsmanship of Japan and world well known Japanese cartoon and animation culture and transmitting them
to the world as an unique form.

――Tell us about your thoughts toward the production, such as craftsmen, precious metals of the body material or paulownia box.

We have insistence on all process of the production including material, technology and design.

――Tell us about the reason why you approached in different posing by material, such as platinum Mazinger Z with Rocket Punch and Gold Mazinger Z with Breast Fire.

I was thinking about these two kinds of posing originally and chose each poses that matches gold and platinum.
We chose the brilliant pure gold for the Breast Fire which has a sense of stability, And a clear shine platinum for the lively Rocket Punch.

――Sterling silver line is available in Negora only. Why did you choose silver material for Negora?

The most important thing is customer's request.
Since it is a very popular material, we are planning to use it for more products in the future. Depending on the design, but oxidizing or putting a stone
might be interesting.

―― MIROCK TOY has produced many works but tell us why you chose specifically "Miroku" among them for commercializing.

I am a fan of MIROCK TOY myself and I thought that our company consensus is matching to "Miroku" which is one of the masterpieces of MIROCK TOY.
In fact, the pure gold "Miroku" has a mysterious feeling to it and the shine of material perfectly matchs with the beauty of its form.

――Please let us know if you have any motifs or characters you'd like to create in future, or materials you would like use other than precious metals

There are many plans, but we will not disclose at the moment.
In the future there are plans to produce medals and accessories as well as figures.
Besides products, we actively work on boxes, cloths, wrapping paper etc. We would like to use great techniques of Japanese craftsmen.

――Tell us about your first impression when you were offered this plan by Kougei.

Honestly, I was honored that Negora could be made of such things.
Of course I was glad that it would be made with various materials but I felt pressure at the same time because they are all very expensive materials.

――Please tell us your impression about Negora with precious metal material finish which has been developed as Sofubi mainly.

When I hold the sample, it was so heavy although being quite small.
Both pure gold and sterling silver have a chic solid feeling than I thought and there was calm shininess in the real thing.
When I heard that craftsmen carefully polished up one by one, I was filled with thankfulness for finishing Negora like this.

――If there are opportunities like this again in the future, are there any materials you would like to try?

Nothing in particular but Konatsuya Negora Sofubi is made in Japan so it is very pleasant to be able to collaborate with Japanese traditional craft work
such as Densakugama Kinsei.

――Tell us about your first impression when you were offered this plan by Kougei.

Since pure gold was not familiar to me and I had no idea with it, I wanted to see a finished item once.

――Please tell us your impression about Negora with precious metal material finish which has been developed as Sofubi mainly.

It was extremely beautiful but I was afraid to touch it... When I hold it, I was surprised by its heaviness ...
There was a gap between the weight and the size and it was almost horrible.

――If there are opportunities like this again in the future, are there any materials you would like to try?

There is no particular material but I'd like to try variety of materials.
